Volkswagen has just launched to the market the sedan that arrives to replace the 4-door Polo from India (not to be confused with the Polo hatchback presented a few months ago in the country) and become the new offer of the brand between its Voyage and Vento models .
The new Virtus is offered with three trim levels (Trendline, Comfortline and Highline), a single 1.6-liter naphtero engine with 110 horsepower and manual and automatic transmission options in all three versions. This mechanics is the same as that used in Polo hatchback, his brother without a trunk that is also manufactured in Brazil.
The sedan that will compete with the new Fiat Cronos, Ford Fiesta 4 doors, Peugeot 301 and Citroën C-Elysée, measures 4.48 meters in length, about 42.5 cm longer than the Polo hatch, with which it shares the modular platform MQB 0A. The width and height are practically the same. In turn, the wheelbase is 2.65 meters, the same as the Vento, while the trunk has a capacity of 521 liters, the largest among its competitors.
Among the outstanding equipment, the Virtus has in the top version of the range a completely digital board of 10.2 inches in which information is projected, both the satellite navigator -in 2D or 3D images-, as well as different driving functions, and assistance.

All versions come standard with 4 front airbags (front and side) and stability control.
On the other hand, the model has two systems of connectivity (infotainment), capable of reproducing various digital files. The Highline version is equipped with the Discover Media system, 8-inch screen and three USB inputs, among other items; while the Trendline and Comfortline versions offer the Composition Touch 6.5 “system with App Connect. All the versions of the new Virtus come with the practical support for cell phone on the panel, with exclusive USB input for fast charging.
Regarding the safety equipment, all versions of the Virtus offer standard stability control (ESP), four airbags for the front seat (two front and two side), the system of automatic braking post-collision, exclusive in the segment, which automatically activates the vehicle’s brakes when wrapped in a blow to reduce residual kinetic energy, and Isofix child seat hooks, among the most important.
The Volkswagen Virtus is offered in seven color options: Universal Black, Crystal White, Tornado Red, Platinum Gray, Night Blue, Sirius Silver and Tungsten Silver.
